Our audiologists Dr. Mike Bateman, Dr. Adam Reyes, and Dr. Shane Hunsaker are a crucial part of our team. They use the most current techniques to accurately evaluate your hearing and balance. Once we’ve decided what the best option for hearing rehabilitation will be, the audiologists will work with you personally to help you in the fitting and adaptation process.

Hearing Test (Audiogram)

Hearing test (audiogram) is first completed by an Audiologist. The audiogram is used to help decide what hearing solution is best for patients. A hearing test includes:

  • Otoscopy
  • Tympanometry
  • Acoustic reflex testing
  • Pure tone audiometry
  • Bone conduction audiometry
  • Speech testing (word recognitions scores, speech recognitions thresholds)

After the audiogram is completed you can take advantage of a hearing consultation. A hearing consultation is an appointment used to gain knowledge about all the current hearing options.

  • Audiogram review
  • Types of Hearing AidsGoing over all relevant hearing improvement options, hearing aids, bilateral microphones contralateral routing of the signal (BICROS) system, bone conduction hearing aid, cochlear implant, FM systems, and personal sound amplification product (PSAP)
  • Education/Demonstration of Types of hearing aids:
    • Behind the ear(BTE), In the ear (ITE), Completely in the ear(CIC), Invisible in the ear (IIC), Receiver in the ear (RIC)
  • Types of Osseo integrated/ bone conduction/ bone anchored hearing aid devices (Oticon, Cochlear, Med-El)
  • Types of Cochlear implants (Cochlear, Med-EL)
  • Custom Earmolds
  • Rechargeable vs non-rechargeable
  • Bluetooth or phone compatibility
  • Technology levels (Premium, Advanced, Select, Basic)
  • Manufactures: (Starkey, Oticon, Resound, Phonak, Signia, Widex)
  • Accessory (remote control, remote microphone, tv unit, waterproof case)
